Who has a Kimber revolver? Comments, pros & cons.

A friend showed up at the range last week with with the exposed hammer version and invited me to shoot it. How could I refuse?? I fired single action only and must confess that I did as well with it as with any of my well tuned k frames. It was quite a surprise! My only complaint was the skinny grip. (And the price.)

I have had one since they came out. It is a really well made firearm. I find it shoots best for me if I take a bit lower grip on the handle of the gun. I use a higher grip on my 640 Pro but both shoot equally well. The sixth shot and smooth trigger make the Kimber a winner. I would never consider cargo pants carry with any firearm. Learning fast draw from that carry position could be comical.
For size comparison.

Shot the K6 12 times, brutal is what came to mind. With the recoil and bringing the sights back into alignment then pulling the trigger again, it was about 1 round a second. Gave the K6 a break and shot the 640 5 times and no different, heavy recoil. What the heck, they are small guns. Shot at 21 ft. Went back to the Kimber just to experience it more. After about 20 rounds I quit, moved the bench back to 50' and started to shoot another gun. Used factory 158 gr JSP. I think even the 5" model 27 I have would kick hard with this ammo. The gun shot good If I didn't flinch. Went back to shoot it at 50 ft 10 times, maybe a bigger grip then the alamont would help.

Over the weekend I carried the gun and the grip stuck out of the right front pocket some. The 640 was a tad easier to conceal with the 2" bbl. I like the idea of having one more round. Gonna keep it because of the price and shoot it more. Pretty sure the 640 is gonna be sold. Overall I like the gun, Larry

I've had my K6S since the year of their intro. I haven't even dreamed of shooting magnum loads. I did that with my Model 60 when I first got it in 2008. I can't remember if I even got through the whole cylinder. I shot some too out of a SP101 many years ago and it was brutal (to use your word).

I carry .38 Special for defense. If that isn't enough, then it's too bad for me. I'll take my chances.
