To CAPT STEVE
I was in Karamursel in 64 and 65. I spent way too much time in Istanbul. Spent a couple of weeks in Samson on the black sea TDY. I wish I had traveled around Turkey more. Lots to see, at 19 I wasn't much interested in sightseeing. This country boy grew up some in and around Istanbul.

It's 31-yr Master Chiefs that are responsible for the US Military saluting with the right arm . . .

. . . because 31-yr Master Chiefs find it dificult to bend their left arms:

pberry, I was there from Jan 70 to June 71. We lived in Yalova for the last year. My daughter was born in Ankara. Beautiful country that I would love to visit again some day. I know what you mean about Istambul. Probably the most amazing city on the planet I 'm sure we could share some amazing tales of our time there. Take Care.
