Who is using Google Pay for Android?

So I'm thinking it's a good time to set up the phone so I can pay for stuff without passing money or cards across hands. From what I read, Ggl Pay is a good app for this but admittedly know nothing.
Anybody here using this app (or another for Android) ?
How is set-up and operation? Easy? PITA?
Any experience appreciated as this old guy is fairly distrustful of such things.

I used it briefly a couple of years back. It was easy to set up and easier to use. You just need a compatible phone with NFC (near field communication). Not all of them have that feature including my current phone. Oh, and your bank or credit card issuer has to support it as well - not all of them do.
