In the mid 70s I lived in Garland, Texas. Had a neighbor that I did not get along with. Had issues about a fence and a couple of other things.
One night about 1:30 AM my phones rings. "Reynolds, this is Tim next door. Do you think you could shut your damn dog up?"
"Oh, sorry," I replied. "I will bring him in."
A few weeks later my wife spoke to his wife about the situation. Turns out the dog was barking at the guy that stole his CB radio and Colt 1911 from his car in the driveway. Did not have anymore complaints about the dog barking.
We later became friends. When I hear dogs barking late at night I am reminded of that story.
