My 30+ year old boom box finally died. It lived on a corner shelf in my garage and had an easy life. I've had that thing since I was a teenager. It's still in excellent condition, great sound and everything was working but I think the rotary on/off combo switch went out...

Anybody know of anything that's as reliable as my old school boom box?

The one I have is an AWIA. They have great sound, but I think the power button is a weak spot. I had an earlier version and the power button went out too. It lasted about 20 years.

I'm thinking about hitting the pawnshops and maybe get lucky...

The first thing you should do is check around your area for repair shop and see if they can fix it. If they can get it fixed, bring it home and put it in your garage turn it on and never turn it off again.

I had a friend who owned an auto repair shop in South Colorado Springs he was there for 30 years. Today he moved in he put a stereo in the shop and turned it on and turned it to whatever country station he listened to. He never turned it off and I know for a fact it was still running when he closed the shop.

Is the OP looking for a bluetooth speaker or for something with a built in tuner?
That's what a boombox still means to me even if music streams instead of playing a cassette or disc.

I'd prefer a built in tuner, but whatever I get it has to have RCA jacks. As far a bluetooth, I don't care one way or the other.
