I am not a reloader so aluminum case should be fine? Not interested in shooting specials, but wanting a standard .44 mag load with 240 gr load that's moving fast. JHP or JSP. 6 1/2" 629-6 classic. Hand loading just isn't an option for me at this point, but I like to shoot this gun a lot and am trying to stay out of the poor-house while doing it. I also am just coming off a session with some poor quality hand loads I bought off someone that has put the fear of 'cheap ammo' into me, so I don't want ammo that is so cheap it's suspect, if that makes sense. Any suggestions on a brand to look for and an on-line retailer that will have good prices? Maybe under .80 a round? Thanks.

I've shot quite a few Prvi Partizan 240gr JHP's and they've been very accurate out of my Super Redhawk. Not super hot but definitely magnum rounds. SGAmmo has them for $28.95 per box of 50. Now that I've built up some brass I reload my own but still throw in a box or two whenever I order from SG just to have a little more brass.

Bud's has a good selection of 44mag ammo. Here is a list in "Price per round" sequence.

Browse 44 Remington Magnum Ammo

Note that aluminum cased ammo is not necessarily the cheapest. Even if you don't reload, you can save your brass in case you ever do start reloading. Also, some gun shops will buy once-fired name brand brass to resell.

Try LAX Ammo. I just placed my second order for their factory new Lax brand ammo. I have shot their 38, 357, and 44 Special and all performed very well. First time buyers receive free shipping with their brand of ammo and when you sign up for email, wait for free shipping specials.
