Who uses Titegroup?

I use Tite Group for 45 hardball loads, Clays fir 45 Wadcutter loads, 231 for 38 spec, ande VV330 for 9 mm. Works for me in my guns.

IMO, Titegroup is a great-performing powder. However, after one can I stopped using it for the same reason I don't use Bullseye or Red Dot -- I don't like low bulk powders because it's hard to tell if you've thown a double charge. The fastest pistol powder I use is W231.

That's just me.

One of the best features about reloading is increasing your capability of tailoring loads specific to your gun.
A pound of powder costs about 20 to 23 dollars so the cost per round is pretty minimal compared to the price of bullets and primers.
Try the titegroup and if it doesn't work out, try out one of the other suggestions.

Titegroup is a good powder to use for plinking and some medium loads. It is the powder that I use second. My first choice for plinking is Trail Boss. Fills the case, is clean, accurate and goes a long way. Trail Boss is the best powder for plinking in almost any caliber.

Dirtiest powder I have ever used in a handgun load. After reading some review I bought an 8-lb to use in .45 ACP target loads with 200 grain cast bullets. Loads were accurate, but no more so than my usual 700-x loads, and the fouling was more pronounced.

Tried it in .45 Colt and .45 S&W with cast bullets at target velocities. More accurate than most other loads, but more soot all over the cylinder as well. Made shooting more than a few rounds unpleasant.

The last straw was .38 Special. Lousy accuracy, and horrible fouling at all levels with cast bullets from the top loads down to the lowest recommended. Firing 50 rounds resulted in the amount of fouling that most other powders produce after 500 rounds. Just a single box of 50 and my hands were blackened with a sooty residue that was difficult to wash off.

I won't be buying anymore, ever.
