I saw on TV this AM that the line to meet Pres. Bush at a book signing this morning began forming last night and already has hundreds of people waiting in the cold for "W." to arrive and sign copies of his new book. And they have to go through a Secret Service checkpoint to meet the ex-President.
I've been in that Border's store many times, but not to stand in line. I have met a couple of authors there, but never needed to go through security for it.
Did once stand in a very long line to meet Heidi Klum, but gave up after I got inside the store and found that the line wound through every aisle in the shop, and people behind me were lined up all down the hall of the mall. Someone said that people were actually outside, too.
I got within maybe 25 feet of her, but the line wound around so much that I gave up and left, after watching her interact for a while with the crowd. That lady has a finely-oiled mind as well as her other obvious assets. Sings well, too.
But I won't wait too long to meet anyone that I can think of. I tend to get hungry or need the restroom.
Who would you stand in a long line to meet and get their autograph? Anyone?
Oh: I'll buy Bush's book. I just won't stand in a long line to do it.
