One reason is most of the new "artists" today don't know how to play a musical instrument. That use to be a prerequisite.

Sadly--yep. The only rap I actually like--is the very old school stuff.The funniest I heard was by a guy named: Ugly Kid Joe--and it came out about twenty three years ago.

And of course "The Streak" is in there also.

Pure music, no lyrics I would vote for "Yakety Sax" with Boots Reynolds, Chet Atkins and Ray Stevens on the old TNN Ralph Emory Show.

Yakkity Yak is in a school music textbook adoption. Today's hip hop generation loved it, the Beatles, the Go-Go's, and the Beach Boys.

I mentioned a popular song from his era called 'Ragg Mopp'. No only was it nonsensical, it wasn't even spelled correctly. We agreed no generation had a lock on 'real' music.
