I'm talking about the Buckhorn sights.

Just bought a Henry 22mag rifle with the Buckhorn rear sight and beaded front sight.Never encountered it before so I'm thinking it must be an improvement.

There weren't any instructions in the book for POA and a search on the internet also came up blank. The only thing I found out is that these sights have been around for awhile on various firearms.

To add to my dilemma the sight includes an adjustable piece to fine tune the sight when you can't sight in completely with just the ramp/elevator.Just another piece to confuse me.

Yeah,I'm completely dumbfounded! What should my sight picture look like when firing the first shot? My eyesight isn't that bad but I can barely see the beaded front sight because it's so thin.

I'm already thinking of buying a scope because I doubt I'll fire a 22mag at short distances.

Well, there's buckhorn and semi buckhorn.
I have a winchester 94 with, I believe, semi buckhorn sights.
I just settle the front bead down into the lowest notch and use the 'ears' for lead marks on running game.

For the old mountain men carryin' a Hawken rifle, if the whole of the buckhorn sight was filled with fur when you aimed the gun, that thar Grizzle bear was close enuff!!!
