Why do I not see many 3rd gen pistols

I hardly ever see one for sale around my area. S&W should seriously consider making them again.

Is it just me or are people ignoring the 3rd gen guns on auction sites now in the rush to buy up AR15s and such? I have seen several nice 3rd gen guns lately that i thought were not cheap but within reason and no bids whatsoever. My thought is to dig up as much spare $$ as i can and pick up some nice 3rd gens while everyone else is buying doomsday and prepper stuff.Am I nuts?
(about this not in general..................my wife will tell you I am nuts overall)

what I do not understand is what all these people are prepping for? a government that will go under, doubtful they have unlimited resources and the ability to print more money. Fear of them coming to get there guns? not happening either sorry. The stock market is huge, I make money every day even while sitting here typing messages about my 3rd gen SW love. Seriously if you are smart in the market then you are going to make money regardless of the economy and the things that happen. Geez, I just do not get all this doomsday stuff.... durable goods may not be doing very well but service industries have excelled.

Sounds like a plan to me! Actually, I think this year will (finally) be mostly ammunition, magazines, springs, and other parts. Mostly for the 3rd generation guns.

Well, except for an AR lower that I ordered back last summer and is due for delivery shortly after the first of the year.

And of course if a 395x should show up locally, I might have to dig into the secret fund and give it a new home.

Shot many autos over the years but always strapped on a revolver, until I got my 4567. I was looking for a 1911A1 but when my gunsmith offered me the Smith at a price I could not refused, I decided to give it a try. A year later he tried to trade me a Clark 1911 figuring I would jump at it but after I shot them side by side I decided I actually liked the Smith far better. It just short better for me and the Clark had an annoying habit of dropping every spent case right on the crown of my head. I found it quite distracting. Strangely enough all the cases went over the right shoulder of my brother. I am sure it could have been tuned out but I didn't want to be bothered. The 4567 was/is so absolutely reliable that it finally gave me the confidence to leave the revolver in the safe. Now the revolvers only get use at the range and for teaching purposes. When it came to looking for a 9mm recently I decided I wanted the same design as my. 4567 and a DA/SA action. I went looking for a full sized 3rd gen like a 5906 but came across the compact 3913tsw. I thought I would give it a try and have not been disappointed. I haven't shot it much due to ammo availability buy it has been flawless in operation and even though it is lighter and has the short three finger grip frame it feels and shoots so much like its .45 cal big brother that I sometimes forget which pistol I have in my hand. I am sold on the DA/SA 3rd geners!

Have a 6906 that I polished the barrel, trigger, safety selector, and curves on the slide. Excellent pistol and very well made. A lot of people who see me carry it say its too heavy to carry. It's not heavy and try wearing a belt is often the reply. Why does everyone my age (26) feel that plastic guns are the way to go? When has plastic ever been better than metal?
