Hi, WC145:
What modifications did you do to your Model 1917?
What type ammo does it like?
Jimmy

Actually, all I've done is put on the grips and replace the missing lanyard loop. I bought the gun not long ago from another forum member and it was already modified when he got it. It appears to be an old chop job but it was very well done. The barrel is nicely crowned, the sight looks like a factory install, and the bob and serrations on the hammer are very clean. A nice plus is that all of the numbers match, which I think is pretty cool.

It's a good shooter and has a very slick action. I've only shot jack-o-lanterns with it and I was just messing around so I can't say exactly, but it appears to shoot to POA at 15yds with 230gr ball. That's all I've shot through it so far, though I think it's about the most appropriate ammo.

I'm trying to decide if I'm going to have it refinished (the pics make it look better than in person) and I'm kicking around the idea of a bit of engraving, or I might just leave it the way it is. Regardless I'll be ordering some leather for it from Wyatt Burp. I think it'll make a nice Sunday carry piece.
