Why doesn't S&W bring back some of these?

I'd love S&W to bring back the 66/19 in 2.5" and 3" barrel lengths.

I'd love S&W to bring back the 386 XL Hunter.

I'd love S&W to bring back the 386 Mountain Lite.

These were all great revolvers, why did S&W stop making them? Will they ever be brought back? I'm glad the 66 is back, but would love to see it the other barrel lengths I mentioned.

I wonder what a new manufacture model 19 would look. Can they do an actual blue finish with the two piece barrel? Or would it be the matte black finish, much like a 442? I'm not sure I'd get a model 19, but I am interested in a snub 66

With all the work S&W must have invested in the new M66, its hard to think that they wouldn't bring back a 3 inch (or shorter) M66, or a M65.
I still can't decide which model I would prefer.
Its hard to improve on a 3 inch, fixed sight magnum revolver for a do it all gun.
I suspect they started out with the 4.2 inch M66 due to the possibility of a fresh market in Canada and overseas.

Best,
Rick

Yessss! In Canada we are eagerly awaiting the new 66 (can't have barrels less than 4.15 up here, don't get me started....)

Sometimes you just have to wonder who is running these big Company's and why they don't have at least one employee with common sense monitoring Forums, articles, wish lists, and figuring out what the public wants.

Believe me, it's NOT just S&W!

ADDED:

As far as the M66, M19 are concerned, they are still available on the secondary market; they are high quality traditional Smiths; and while they may seem pricey, they are probably less than a new one would cost IF Smith made them as they once did! Even IF they do bring them back, they will never be made as they were back in the day - IMHO.

I have a 66 snubby that I love, but if I were to wish for another short barrel model, it would have to be the discontinued 65LS. Just something about the lines of that baby that appeals to me. Fixed sights, 3-inch shrouded barrel, six-shot, .357 mag, stainless steel K frame. IMO, it doesn't get any better for SD carry.

+1 on the 65LS, just a great looking pistol. Saw one recently on line for around $1k...I passed!

In hindsight I should have added the 65 Lady Smith to that list. That's another one I'd like to see them bring back.

Remember that you wouldn't get to vote on whether they had trigger locks, or MIM parts, or wood grips, or this or that (or the price we like).
