Why doesn't the M&P have a "felt" reset

The LC9 has a too long trigger pull. Use the Galloway mod and you will probably change your mind about caring it.

I have the first generation Galloway kit in my lc9. The trigger pull length is significantly reduced but the reset is still very long.

I do not know what they do to Mass. and Ca. compliant guns. Probably stiffer trigger bar return springs.

Nope, no longer an issue with Komifornistan. S&W decided not to renew their extortion to the state. Any changes to the gun meant it had to go through requalification to prove it is "safe" which meant the mythical microstamp had to be implemented so no more M&P full size guns available for retail sales behind the Cannabis Curtain.

Where lending a friend a normal capacity magazine is a felony, but stealing a gun or car worth $950 or less is a misdemeanor and makes our "neighborhoods and schools safe".

Yep, I had forgotten about the "Left" coast being so absolutely anal retentive with it's less then common sense laws. This is what happens when Liberals run things. Absolute chaos, period.
And I applaud S&W for not playing the stupid "game" that Komifornistan requires. As I understand it, S&W would have to submit, I think, 50(?) pistols for testing. Absolutely insanely absurd! S&W told them to basically go pound sand. Armalite did the same, and voluntarily refuses to sells firearms to Komifornistan, period. LEO or not, no sales to California at all. Good for them.

LaRue Tactical did the same a while ago. They refused to sell to certain Police jurisdictions because of all the red tape.

I would prefer the term pronounced reset most people don't feel it's necessary. The felt/audible reset thing I think was mainly from Glock owners who moved over to the M&P. If you want a felt reset get a RAM from APEX. What's more important to me is a very short reset. Over 90% of handguns don't have a pronounced reset. When you're shooting rapidly there's no way you will ever feel a reset anyway. It's main use would be for slow deliberate target shooting.

Or dry fire practice for free other than time. You know about that muscle-memory thing? The triggers really do SUCK.

My Smith & Wesson revolvers don't have a reset either except when the trigger is all the way forward.

What's your point?

REALLY?

I own somewhere between 15-20 S&W's, maybe more. Revolvers are for hunting, target shooting and having a good time with the exception of J frames. Kahrs are great shooting guns also and second to none in size for CC. The reset is too long. If you have not figured out to let out to reset on a short reset teigger than you are missing out. I can drain 34 rounds from any size 9mm Glock in less than six seconds. Try that with a revolver. Weak trigger springs SUCK. I want that trigger snapping back with force.

I have three M&Ps made between 2008 and 2013. All have noticeable trigger reset. I fired an early 40 years ago , and while it did not seem to have a pronounced reset, I did not notice. It operated enough like the Glocks I was used to shooting to shoot well enough.

Well...though I know my Glock trigger has a very audible reset, I also know that I can't hear it when I'm firing the gun.

Using short reset to get quicker splits isn't about hearing or even feeling the trigger reset. It's all about shooting the gun enough to form the muscle memory required to get it right.

The differences between reset lengths across different platforms is one reason why some trainers/competitors advocate removing the trigger finger from contact with the trigger face for every shot.

All guns are different and I am not defending a stock M&P but an APEX kit takes it to a whole different level. I have plenty of revolvers and Sigs and I would always to prefer to shoot them in SA. I don't like a long take up or a long reset. My M&P has been tuned perfectly for my needs even though the upgrades may be close to the original cost of the gun but that's the way it is. You can't expect a $500.00 gun to perform as well as a $1000.00 gun.

I put the newest slide lock in my fs and compact. Reset improved somewhat (more in my compact than my fs). It still stinks when compared to my PPQ.

However, out on the range (indoors) with all the noise, blast and other distractions, trying to shoot follow-ups at a moderate rate, I don't really notice the reset (or lack of one).
