Why I Hate Ebay

About the only thing I buy on Ebay is books. I open the package and look at the book and if it's the right book and it's not falling apart I have my wife give good feed back right then.

When I sell something I under rate it so I'm sure the buyer will be very happy. Word of mouth online can spread very quickly about you being a good seller or not. I never am shady about any item it is what it is. Be fair, call it right.

I buy mostly on Ebay, sell once in a while. I like Paypal because
I can pay instantly and can avoid a trip to the post office for a
M.O.

I pay immediately, and leave feedback when item is received. I
also check to make sure sellers leave me a feedback, and if
they forget, I send them a reminder. On Ebay I can find items
I can't find elsewhere on the internet.

Three years ago, l sold a vintage guitar on EBay. I posted detailed pictures and had it inspected by a well known guitar tech. Buyer received said guitar and said " It has a lacquer ding on the back, it was misrepresented so knock $200.00 off and I'll take it". EBAY "court" said FedEx found no damage to the box or hard shell case so I lose. The guitar tech was me (have done it for 30 years) so my certification was invalid. The buyer shipped it back with a hammer mark on the back to keep the lie alive. My choices were to repair and sell as as a "refin" or sell "as is". Either way I lost. Have not used EBay since nor will I.

im the same i always left feedback after i recived the item to make sure it got to me and to make sure the seller said it what it is soppsed to be that seems fair to me i did not know they hold sellers up like that

This is the way I work.

We use eBay to buy hard to find toys for the kids (try to find a Lego Lord of the Rings "Witch King" at Toys R Us), and that is about it. I never took to paypal, but the wife likes so she does all the eBay.

I don't buy toy but use it the same way to find OOP items I need and sometimes they are the only option. Watching a magazine for my Stevens 56 on there now.

Same with me I pay when auction is won and usually before they send a reminder unless they say in the description to wait for one. I think I'm one of the few that reads the whole description and follow what they suggest. I leave feedback as soon as the item arrives and it has been inspected. PayPal does suck but it is fast and convenient.

Last item I bought on there was a crimson trace laser grip for my KAHR CW45 which I paid less then $100 for shipped and a beaver barf stock for my VZ which was cheaper shipped from Europe the buying off the internet. If it's a price I can't refuse then I will buy. I've found most items now are MSRP or higher. I can find most items sold there on Amazon or internet retailer for less shipped. I have high feedback there also well over 600 and use to get good deals when they first came about and sold firearms but very seldom now. I hardly sell but of the few items, probably less then 20 I have never gotten any feedback from the buyer even though they got a good deal and item was shipped the same or next day and over packaged for protection. On the last high dollar items l have sold, for about $1000 I ship insured and adult signature required to protect me, still no feedback and eBay liked their commission. Then ebay tried to screw me on shipping. They listed a price but when I went to print a shipping label it was twice as high and the person already paid. The difference was their shipping quote was $49.00 and my actual invoice was $99.00 a big difference. So I took it to Staples to ship and they charged me $38.00.

Just remember buying on eBay caveat emptor

Got this from PayPal today. My guess is if you "do not" turn this feature on, that it would be business as usual... I could be wrong. (I added a bank account YEARS ago. Sounds like I just did...)
