Why Lefties Have It In For Gun Manufacturers

Yep. This just about guaranteed me getting an A in foil fencing when in college. On the other hand, my wife--also a lefty--wasn't allowed to fence anybody but other left-handers at her school. I guess the righties there were just afraid of her.

I am right handed, but shoot left handed by necessity. I had a stock made for a Sako that was a left handed stock, but configured for a right handed action. Worked out perfectly for me. I also remember Bell Telephone providing left handed telephones during the rotary days.

Really wish they made a civilian version of the FAMAS, I've been in love with them ever since I was a kid and first played Metal Gear Solid.

I generally detest bullpup rifles, but there's always an exception to the rule.

Back in the 80s, I think, perhaps earlier, a civilian version, semi-auto only, of the FAMAS was imported; about 1000 of them. They also cost about $1000 at the time, a lot of money. They 're worth about $5000 now. There was also a version made for the French maket, semi auto only and in 222 Remington. I've visited REAL gun nuts in France but never have seen one.

My big issue is with holsters. Every big box store that stocks the commercial ones, Bass Pro, etc., all they have is right handed. Don't they realize that SOME of their customers would appreciate a left handed Blackhawk! Serpa, or a left handed Galco for their J frame?

Most big box stores do not cater to lefties. In the thousands of guns, for example, that my BP around the corner gets, they only receive 4 or so left handed rifles per year. Now it is not always their fault. The general availability of left handed gear is in the world of today a small market. It has taken me 40 years to acquire most of my gear in left hand. But finding holsters is especially hard!

The only gun I have ever had issue with as a lefty is an autoloader shotgun. When you shoot a lot, there is enough residue discharged that it really does affect your eyes. Not an issue with AR's or any other autoloader (22's, etc) but there is just more coming out of a shotgun breech that gets to a fella.
As for pistol functioning??? Never felt there was an issue with them. Bolt rifles?? I like the rightie model better; work the action and never let go of the trigger.
