Why? The infernal lock on revolvers and not on autos

When S&W caved to the pressure of the government to add the IL, why did only the revolvers get them and not the semi-auto pistols?

Am I missing something? Do some newer semi-autos have them?

Thanks,

Some do such as the Springfield 1911 which has a lock and a keyhole on the main spring housing. I saw that last year on a new stock piece. If there are others I'm sure that they will be listed. Bruce

It's forethought... the libs plan to ban semi-autos. Once that's done, the only thing that will be left are revolvers, and they have the IL!

I've often wondered if they'd have gotten as negative a reception on the wheel guns, if they'd have chosen a less wart on the nose place for it?

Gosh, you think so? You mean if they hadn't spoiled the contour of the side plate, and if they hadn't drilled a hole in the side of the gun, and if they hadn't screwed up the function of the gun so as to reduce its reliability? Yeah, I guess that would have been better.

Do you suppose it's because semi-autos already have a "safety," but revolvers don't? I know it doesn't make much sense, but the people passing gun laws don't know anything about guns anyway...
