Decided to get the grooves gone from the wide *** uncomfortable trigger on two n-frame guns. Would like to approximate a factory profile. In the back of my mind I seem to recall the figure .335???

Second, both guns shoot as high as an elephants butt so I will need higher front sights at the end of the day. Have sent several autos to Dawson so may check with them for that work.

Your title says Hammer while your text says Trigger.

I will guess that it is the Trigger that you are talking about grinding smooth.

There are at least 3 different widths of smooth trigger that the Factory has used depending on the firearm in question, possibly 4.

The trigger widths I can remember are
.265"
.375"
.400"
.500"

I just can not recall if the .500" was offered in smooth or not, the .500" triggers may have all been grooved.

The smooth combat triggers are usually about .312. That is a very good width if you are shooting double action. I like to round the profile more than the factory for DA work.

I have a smith smooth and radius revolver triggers. Doesn't cost much and I'm not that good with a Dremel. I hate a grooved trigger, and my EDC and has been for years a DAO J-frame.

I had a smooth .500" installed by S&W on one of my 4" 57's many years ago. They fitted a new hammer with the trigger and even sent the original parts back to me!

Love the smooth over the grooved!

Change of heart. Installing Ron Power smooth triggers and keeping originals as they are. Thanks for the comments.

Who is this Ron power guy?

Ron was the BEST revolver smith back in the day IMO. Had him do 3 revolver jobs for me, one a PPC Model 10 and a 4" and 6" 586 for Distinguished PPC.
