Ok ya'll I am building my CQB upper and the big question is will a Red Dot Co-witness with my iron sights. My Dad has a Red Dot he will give me and of course in my box of parts, plus the sights I am selling I have a fold down front sight and the Matech rear. I thought if the red dot would co-witness with the Irons I would put it on, if not I will consider the 45 degree offset mounts but I would prefer to keep everything on top. Thanks for all your help. :)

I am not sure, other than the barrel I am building this upper out of parts from "the box". LOL Dad just said he had one, I think Its a Bushnell but it might be a Tasco. Was just trying to figure out whether it would be a waste of time or to try it. You know the cost is right!!! LOL

It may take me a little longer to transition but....

So here we go my moduler "Cybersport" at least until I get another lower......

I'd say it depends on the mount more than anything else. I know the Sightmark Reflex cowitnessed the irons. I have since replaced the irons with Magpul Mbus front and back and also switched over to a Vortex Strike Fire, with the AR Mount it cowitnessed and with the NC Star qd mount it also cowitnesses.

Might not look like it from the picture but it is co-witnessed, lower third. And with a sweet Matech rear folding sight...

I have an Aimpoint on my M4, and the backup rear sight, when elevated, will co-witness through the scope. I zeroed the Aimpoint by co-witnessing it with the already-zeroed iron sights, and it needed no adjustment after that. If the red dot fails or runs out of juice, I can flip up the BUIS and aim right through the glass of the scope.

It depends on the red dot and the mount. My Vortex SPARC does full co-witness with my sights (MI Front & Magpul rear).

My Eotech does full cowitness also. I tried to take a pic with my crappy iphone. When I took the pic I was looking through the small hole of my rear magpal sight. The elevation looks off a little bit but it's not, I just could not hold the phone perfect. When you sight it with your eye it's right on.
