A former co-worker is retiring soon

He has had the M&P for less than two weeks and killed four coyotes with it, dropped a fifth coyote but could not locate it. He bought a 2x-7x Leupold scope as the red dot wasn’t quite ideal for distance shooting. His realtor’s husband sold him a Beretta 1201fp shotgun and I gave him some potent BB rounds for it. Coyotes won’t be safe in Clay county.

The best part of it all is that now, with a less intimidating set of furniture on his rifle, the local 'Yotes won't be afraid when they see this guy pointing it at them and will stand still for the shot.

His place was vacant and the pastures leased out before they bought it, so the coyotes made themselves at home. The stock and forearm of the Beretta got a spray coat of grey before he took it in the house.

His wife has been tasked with active shooter training at her school for the last few years; both with teachers and as a LE liaison. She is scared and exhausted of it all.

I taught shop for 12 years in Illinois. We had unannounced lockdowns. No one could leave the room for any reason while a squad of cops with vests, rifles, and dogs combed the campus, looking for drugs and guns.
You want to talk about a sick feeling in the pit of your stomach. They are trying to indoctrinate people through fear.
They never did find the Taurus in the trunk of my car. Guess they didn't go through the teacher's parking lot.
I commuted 48 miles to work. I learned to be prepared after 9-11. Kept a tent and some other stuff in the trunk, too.
Yup. They are scaring teachers.

Back when the Shooting Sport Center was open, I ordered a (then) new M&P 15. The clerk was a friend, he said "I'll call you when you can come and pick it up". I asked why the delay. He said to not worry. A few weeks later, he called to tell me to stop in and pick it up. When I got there he showed me the box marked "Special L. Mundell". It was all tuned and slick. I took it home. I made the mistake of showing Louise. That's the last I handled it! I miss her M&P 15.

I have a Ruger Ranch Mini for the same reason. I don't really like the AR and never wanted one, so it isn't a problem for me. My wife would probably divorce me if I bought an AR. Lucky for me that she doesn't understand the difference between a Mini-14 and and AR.

I find it disturbing though that so many people don't really understand what they're objecting to.

WA. has more gun control than most states yet we still have a problem with mass shooters. I can't buy a Mini-14 or an AR anymore.

Mass shooting near Washington State music festival leaves at least 2 dead
