Will anyone regret not buying gold at $2,270 ?

Well, Tom, as we say here, pix or it didn't happen!:D

(I am talking about that all the matter in the universe in one trillionth the size of the period at the end of your sentence. No photos of 13 billion year old galaxies allowed.)
Just look real close at the period at the end of this sentence - we're all in there. :p

I was at a small, local gun show this weekend selling knives. Onc coin vender had circulated US silver dollars for $30 each and I bought a few. He also had various gold coins and currency. We talked for awhile and discussed Executive Order 6102, which required citizens to turn in gold for the face value of the coin, and how things can become worthless by a stroke of a pen or political change. He gave me a 500 Peso Philippine Occupation note from WW2. By the end of the war these notes were worthless. Not even useful for toilet paper as the Philippine people didn't use TP. Be careful what you put your trust into.

Silver -just yesterday SD Bullion had a Really good Black Friday Silver deal.
Silver price was diving. So I'm watching the price go down as I get ready for a local drive.
Just before I leave, get online to Pull the Trigger!
***! It's gone, Sold out.
'Long Gone, Long Gone, Like a Turkey through the corn!' Hopkins
When I returned, I checked SD. They put up another Silver special but I wanted the earlier one!

I went to my favorite pawn shop here in Cedar City. They had
some gold for sale, including a 1/10 oz. Gold Eagle. They
were selling it for spot plus 16%. I checked on Monument
Metals to see what they are selling their 1/10 oz. GE's for
and it was $308.00. I buy from them as they usually have
the best online prices. The pawn shop price was $305.00.

So, I had this Aimpoint Pro red dot optic I don't need anymore
and traded it for the 1/10 GE plus cash. My out of pocket
cost was $65.00, and I walked out with it. No shipping and
no wait. :)

Here's what I regret....

Moved our family from Alaska back to the lower 48 in 1987. At that time, silver was all the rage due to the Hunt Brothers trying to corner the market. Bought some at ~$10/ounce.

In looking back the real regret back then was that Gold was hovering around $35/ounce......

Wish I had a time machine...... :(

You may be thinking of 1967, when gold averaged $34.95. The average for 1987 was $447.

Let me know if you find a time machine - I'd like some low cost gold myself!

All these different investments gold , silver, guns, (not really bought AS an investment) whatever all increased pretty good over time. Especially if you're not really thinking about it. Bought silver in 1992, 5.00 per silver dollar, 3.90 per ounce for bullion. Didn't buy as much as I should have.

But one crazy investment is land/home property. This area in North Texas and elsewhere, lots of places has tripled in the last 6 years alone. So, land that sold for 6-7 thousand an acre in 2018 now goes for 17-20 thousand an acre or more. Absolutely nuts. Which sounds great if you are talking to people about what your place is worth or how you made a great investment, through no fault of your own. But in reality, if you don't plan on moving, and you don't want to borrow money on it, it stinks. Insurance has gone sky high and the property taxes are way worse than in CA. Of course still no income tax in TX so that counts for something. I am sure lots of other areas are in the same situation. Guess its better than being worth less than you paid, although if you are not selling, wouldnt bother me.

Just looked at the spot price and gold is $2652.25/Oz. Silver is $30.52/Oz. Keep all the old jewelry and broken chains hidden in the safes.

Took the dive :) bought some Bitcoin with $85 stuck in Venmo. Received the payment some years ago for a car cover I sold on a car forum. I couldn't find anyplace worthwhile, little did I know, to spend it on so……enter Venmo

I own 0.0008347 bitcoin. :D Gotta start somewhere.

As I have posted, did buy some Gold in Thailand.
Around $50 an Ounce, I think.
Like this 24k Gold Bracelet.
Was amazed as it was cold extruded in an ugly pipe bending looking device bolted to the floor.
The Ladies tell me that those pointy things hurt their hands.
So that's why this is - A Bracelet Too Far.

My son is big on ethurem and bitcoin. I told him I do not invest in things I don't understand. Especially etherum. Hell I can't even spell it. But with the ETFs offered now and a certain guy in DC recognizing it more he's convinced it will take off again. When it hit $110k I told him to sell and he told me it was all house money. He already took his original investment out.
