Thanks everyone. Just ordered one for SW. It was around $27.00 shipped.
I don't think they have a part number for a complete upper. And without a part number, the order takers can be a bit clueless from what I understand. I don't even think we know the part numbers (if they exist) for all the parts it would take to make a complete upper.

You need to know that neither the upper nor the lower on a 15-22 is milspec. Fitting any other upper and getting it to function is likely to be problematic. Also the lower is designed for the stresses of .22 LR, not hotter center fires, even pistol rounds. Just something to be aware of ...

It would probably be easier and cheaper just to go looking for a used 15-22 as a parts gun.

This is possible, you just need the Tacticool Barrel Nut converter. I have an 11" on mine

Lol yeah, it's funny how a character that is left out could make such a difference. Anywho Noveske makes the NSR rail in 7",9", 11", 13", and 15".

I am now educated about them. 
Do you have pictures? I bought an NSR 9 and tacticool converter but didn't want remove the material on the upper to make it fit and look good. I think it would look sick on my 15-22 SBR.

If you got the standard adapter, you don't need to do anything but remove the factory hand guard.
If you bought the modified adapter, you need to modify your upper by removing all of the bottom tab and most (or all) of the top tab.

Sure do, I actually have two NSRs. One that's made by Noveske, and a licensed one made by Madbull (which is on the gun). The Madbull version fits perfectly on there, but I did mod it to get a more flushed fit on the S&W. Anywho, besides the $150 difference, and no keymod holes on the bottom, the Madbull s a great cheaper alternative to the one Noveske actually makes. I'll have a side by side so you can see.

I currently use an AP Custom 12" non-railed carbon fiber handguard on mine right now. That required both the Tacticool22 converter and a standard AR barrel nut. Same thing if you wanted to put a Troy, Samson, or MI modular handguard on. Also have the new dedicated Allchin AR15-22 compensator/muzzlebrake installed

You can grind those down if you want to. There are only there to make the stock quad rail line up. Just make sure you don't go too far as I do not know if taking all of that off will change whether the barrel nut will tighten up. Maybe Tacticool22 knows but I don't.
