What is the reason for the black copper on the Winchester M-22 cartridges? Is it just cosmetic, or is there some actual advantage to the black copper plating?

Its probably a lubricant of some type, It will rub off with steel wool, exposing normal copper underneath.

Then is it available with camo or pink bullets, too? Pink might be a real niche market.

Hornady Has already thought of that, the bullets aren't pink, but the Packaging is!

I've seen postings in our local Gun Shops that the Winchester M-22 ammo has been recalled!

Might want to look into that!
