Blundered into two 550 round boxes of Winchester White Box .22 Long Rifle 36 grain Hollow Point Ammo at Wal-mart. First I have seen in a while.

Well into over 2 years the .22 lr ammo shortage continues. I can buy all the handgun, shotgun, and rifle ammo I want. But you will be lucky indeed to see one box of .22 lr ammo on the shelf.
The .22 lr manufactures need to open additional plants dedicated to the making of .22 lr ammo. Production needs to increase by at least 10 - 15 million rounds a day. Don't forget .22 lr ammo is exported as well. If I had the money I would invest in building a .22 lr ammo plant and make millions of .22 lr bullets and employ a good number of hard working folks besides. You can't loose....

I am very interested in the performance of the Winchester you scored, been hearing bad things about the brand. Hope you got a deal instead of duds!
I couldn't tell you how many bricks of Win I shot this year, both 40gr and 36, I only had a few FTF's and all went bang the second time around except one.![]()
Sadly, when you hear such horror stories, it's hard to tell if the problem is in the gun - or a bad batch of ammo.![]()
I recently found this Winchester M-22 22lr 1000 count (two 500 boxes inside)
in stock at Walmart.
I was leery about buying, but given the current State of Affairs, decided to
buy them to conserve my Federal 550 stash, and no 22lr to the gougers.
I read up on the reviews when I got home. Reviews were any where
from very dirty, to best 22lr ammo I ever bought, and to the Black List.
I will defiantly buy more. Cycled though both of my S&W 617s,
Ruger 1956 Single Six (very accurate),
Winchester and Marlin Trappers (Win=dead on, Marlin=little to the right),
S&W 2206 Tgt (no dirtier then other 22lr)(very accurate).
.05 cents/round.
