I posted earlier about a possible purchase of a Winchester 100 semi-auto in .308 caliber. Well, my wife surprised me and presented it to me on Christmas day! It belonged to her second cousin and she knew he and I were talking about it. She made the deal with him without me knowing about it. She's a good sneak at Christmas time. She got the gun, 2 new boxes of shells and a nice sling all for $250. I thought he gave her a good deal on it. The serial number on the gun was 1425. I looked it up and saw it was probably made in the first year 1961. I have shot it and it works fine. I know about the firing pin recall on these models so I wondered if it should be looked at by my gunsmith to check for problems or just use it since it functioned so well?? Thanks!
