I'm starting to get the W10 update somewhat figured out but I still have one problem. when I go highlight a web address to copy it , the copy part works ok but when I go to paste it into an e-mail it copies the address but it doesn't turn blue and it isn't clickable. what is going wrong here?

If I copy a link from Firefox to an email it remains black and will only execute if I right clik on it and execute the link from the drop down menu. If I copy a link from Chrome to an email it copies as blue and will execute by left clikng on it. This started for me a couple days ago. What browser do U B browsin wit?
This happened to me once before and I had to modify the registry to fix it.

You might have the e-mail format set to text instead of html or rich text.

My wife's laptop was so screwed up after a recent update I had to take it to our local repair experts to get straightened out. I then had them set it to NOT receive any Windows 10 updates. If there is something really needed I'll have them do the update. I am only semi=literate with computers and nothing frustrates me more than having a screwed up mess.

This is why I'm still running Windows 7 on my laptop, and don't think I will change until I have no other choice.

If you stop updates on Windows 10, you don't get the security updates that happen almost if not always daily, plus the the program itself is modified almost monthly (that way they don't have the expense to come out with a entirely new program - Windows 11, they just constantly upgrade the existing one).

I had to upgrade my 6+ year old computer to a new one because it wouldn't run Windows 10 without problems.
I liked Windows 7 also but they stopped supporting it with security updates and other improvements.
It's a sign of the times that your older computers won't handle the new programs so you have to get a new computer.
That also happened with my iPad and iPhone. Had to get new ones.

After you paste the link, just hit enter once or twice....should turn blue as a link.
