Woe to us New Yorkers

I just checked and I have a device with (a.) one of them evil pistol-grips, (b.) a sneaky tactical-type light, (c.) an extended storage device for hole-making capability, and (d.) it's colored that evil black!!!! Of course it's also a 3/8ths-inch cordless drill with a bigger battery than standard. But by the ludicrous standards of the hoplophobes it is obviously a weapon of mass destruction in some states like New York. Seems ironic to me that some of the Original States of this nation, states that fought tyranny like this legislation, are leaping to accept the foolishness. By the way, is it true that when the idiots wrote the thing they forgot to put in police/military exemption language so your cops will only have 7 bullets also? Hang in. Brothers; a lot of this idiocy won't pass the courts.

A Monster Man grip replaces the pistol grip, but because it has a fin that reaches up to the stock, you can't put your hand completely around it. slightly different angle, and you squeeze it instead of gripping it.

Being from NY I'm going to wait till the end of the year to register. Let the dust settle and see what happens. If you modify it enough its not a 15-22 anymore, its a .22 with a retarded stock. If your too worried about registering your gun you still have time to sell it out of state before a ban goes country wide. And then you can by a 10/22. Me I bought the 15-22 and I'm gonna register it cause thats what i'm gonna keep using.

I thought they changed it from 2 evil features to one being allowed. The evil features, as I understand it are the pistol grip and the detachable mag. Do as they do in Cali and get a fixed mag where you use a bullet (tool) to change mags. It is reversible as I understand it.

Don't get your panties in a bunch. and start ruining your rifle. Gov. Looney Tune had his day in the sun. He's all set for his doomed political dreams. These laws won't stick, they're illegal. They'll be repealed at some point

READY, FIRE, ...AIM...
just read where they pushed thru this legislation so fast that the way it is written, even LEO's are not exempt...but they are 'fixing" it now...

just another "do as i say and not as i do..."

Add a FRS-15 stock it would work

I have been thinking about it

I have a flashlight with a pistol grip. Am I going to be in trouble if I lump up a burglar with it?

I made an extra slidefire block, doesnt look too bad either. You could shape any design you wanted as well. How do you shoot it without a grip though? I guess it'd be hard. You know what? After posting those pictures, I wouldn't mind making custom ones. Gives me something to do on my time off. I guess I'd have to look at the actual laws to see what designs I could get away with without it being a "pistol grip". Maybe a single hook for the middle finger? Something to think about I guess.

I'm curious about this law going the other way and working in some people's favor. All the NY compliant rifles of the last 10 years with pinned stocks and no flash hiders, are now being lumped in with the pre-ban rifles. So does this mean we can unpin our stocks since the pistol grip means registering it anyway?

Take the flashlight off before you call the police. What, are they gonna take a burglars word for it "Ya I was breaking into his house but he shot me with a gun that had a flashlight!!" If all goes well, he won't be telling no tales.

That's what I take from it. The MP 15-22 is a banned gun now. So having an adjustable stock with a pistol grip looks to be ok because that cant be sold anymore and having a pinned stock was a way to sell it NY. I would wait till the end of the year when you have to register the gun though. Like many of said the law might change and maybe could go back to the 2 feature way it use to be.

I was discussing this NY malarkey with a coworker and an interesting point was brought up. How long is it going to take for an individual to effectively register said guns? If they make the process take up to a few months, and everyone waits til towards the end of the grace period, will any guns not already through the system by the deadline become immediately in violation? I mean if they put say a 6 month waiting period on it, if you put your paperwork in too late the day of the deadline they have your info and where to come collect the gun. "Sorry, it wasn't registered in time. Hand it over or go to jail."

I dont believe it would take very long at all. Give the make model and serial number of your gun. They do a background check on you which usually takes all of 20 minutes if not less. When you get cleared they will give you your paperwork and call it a day. It would be like registering your car at the DMV but with a background check.

Well that's good at least.
