i have used PMC Bronze and Power-shok in .223 rem, plain PMC in 5.56mm, and PMC Bronze in 308 win, they have been fine shooting all around.

PMC 308--> Yuk-O

For repeatable high end performance stick with just one ammo selection, preferably Federal 7.62x51mm Gold Medal MatchKing 175gr for Long Range Accuracy, or its equivalent being Lake City 7.62x51mm M118 "LR" 175gr, and; believe it or not, Hornady ZombieMax 155gr GreenTip .308's for home defense situations.

As to 5.56 and/or .223 go to a Gun Show and buy up every box of Israeli Ammo you can get your hands on. It's accurate as hell and as one might imagine, geared for WAR.

The above referenced rounds all shoot "reliably" & "predictably" well.

Everything else is a big waste of your hard earned money, and doesn't due justice to your M&P 10's (or an AR15's) capabilities.

vfin ps. Lapua .308 155gr aint bad either, if your a rich guy !

around here its more like grab whatever shows up on the store shelves before someone else does... makes for good learning experiences... how to deal with misfires, failures to feed, jams, stuck magazines, etc, i wouldn't know half as much about my m&p 10 if it shot reliably every time!

Brass cased Wolf Gold is made by Prvi Partizan, good stuff!:D

PMC , good stuff!:D

Wolf steel-cased , well , , . :rolleyes:

Check your owners manual about steel cased ammo.

I have fired a ton of PMC in my AR-15 but very little steel cased Wolf. I hear pros and cons about it and know guys that regularly run steel case ammo for plinking and save the good stuff with no issues what so ever. I looked over my MP-10 manual pretty good and do not see one word about the use of steel case ammo but maybe I just missed it.

Yes, please do. No manual ACTUALLY says anything about not shooting steel cased ammunition in it. More ARFCOM rumor. Thanks for bringing it back up.:rolleyes:

So far, with the ar308, I have about 550-650 Wolf/ WPA steel thru the rifle. Cycles it, feeds it, and fires it no problems.
If your rifle is set up properly, it should chew up and spit out just about ANY ammo you put in it. Especially if it is considered a defense rifle, rather than a dedicated safe queen, paper puncher, deer blind kinda rifle. If it can't cycle 5 different brands easily?? Make it so that it can.

For killing pumpkins and paper targets, it is ideal. Why spend $1 every time you pull the trigger?
For a hunting round, there are 20 good options. Find which ones your particular barrel likes to repeatedly spit out in the same place, and go with them. So far, the Winchester xpII have been good in 150gr and 165 gr. Hogs do not seem to like them as much as I do.......:)

No- the difference is that you actually read your manual, rather than taking some info from the internet and running with it.:p
