I recently picked up some Wolf Gold 357 Magnum, 158gr. SJHP ammo and thought I'd share the results of shooting it through my 19-7 PC revolver. I'd like to start by saying that Wolf doesn't load this ammo is actually a private labeled for them by Prvi Partizan ammunition company.

If you follow the link you'll see that their ammo was tested out of a 10" barrel at 490 meters/second which is roughly 1600 fps.

Out of my gun, on average, the load clocked 1160 fps out of a 2 1/2" barrel. Given that the chrono was at least 15ft. away the average was probably very close to 1200 fps.

I didn't have any trouble keeping a cylinder full inside 3" at 25 yards offhand. That's not saying anything about my ability but the accuracy of the gun and ammo.

Academy has them in their Monarch brand made by PPU for $19.99.I have also used the 38 SP with the same bullet- the both shot fine in a short barrel.

I've fired Wolf ammunition in a variety of handguns and rifles. In every instance, in every respect, Wolf ammunition has given function and on target results fully equivalent to those produced by any other manufacturer. I have not yet fired enough of the Wolf brass cased ammunition to have enough cases for reloading, so I can't speak to how the brass does for reloading. But both the brass and steel cased handgun and rifle ammunition produced by Wolf is excellent in my experience.

Prvi Partizan brass is just fine for reloading. I have used it on several occasions with good success.

Midway has the Wolf at 27.49 and Prvi at 26.49 for a box of 50.
