Wolf laquer coated ammo

There has been a problem with case extraction with this laquered steel cased ammo. Has this been corrected? Anyone out there shooting Wolf ammo having problems?

I tried it a couple of times, had extraction problems, then gave up.

They no longer use the lacquer. They use a polymer. Some claim problems with both, but I've never had the first problem and I've shot many thousands of round of it thru several rifles for years. Evidently, if your rifle has problems with it, it has problems. If not, it doesn't.

I've shot a couple of thousand .40 S&W polymer coated Wolf in a Glock 23, Sig 229 and Sig 226 without a single problem.

The .40 is very clean burning and like most all ammunition, it shoots better than I do.

I won't use it and S&W states it's not to be used in their M&P 15s. There have been quite a few reports of the "coating" being baked into the interior of AR barrels.

I have shot it in 7.62 x 39 and 9 x 19 never had a problem. This is the steel cased less expensive stuff. Even the other Russian stuff Silver Bear Golden Tiger etc no problems. I shoot it mostly in the soviet guns. 9mm gets used in a Smith and p 38 no problems.

I had a problem with the Wolf laquered cases sticking in one of my AR's a few years ago. The laquer was getting baked off of the cases when the barrel got hot and sticking to the chamber walls. The way that I get the crud out of the chamber/barrel is to plug the muzzle and fill the bore to the top of the chamber with laquer thinner. After letting it sit for about half an hour dump the laquer thinner out. Next I use a swab soaked in laquer thinner, let it sit for a few minutes and then go after it with a chamber brush/bore brush dipped in laquer thinner. Works well for me, AKA no more stuck cases in my Oly Ultra Match. I use this method of cleaning every time I shoot the laquered cases in anything.

I don't shoot Wolf. I'll spend a little extra and get brass cased ammo.

fwiw it's use is specifically prohibited at the S&W shooting sports center range.
