Hmmm...I'm beginning to think "not many." ;)

Replaced the springs in 3 WWII contract 1911A1 magazines a number of years. No problems.

I can't find it now, but I read that one member was having feed problems and cured them with the Wolff extra power springs. I haven't had any problems yet...just wondering.

I replaced the magazine spring in a WWII Walther P38 , with a regular power Wolff replacement spring .....works like new now, harder to load that last round though .

Do you have an UpLula? It's great!

Maybe you should DM akdude about them, he's kind of an evangelist about Wolff mag springs, he might know.

I have. I was having an occasional nose down feed failure. I thought that the wolf 5% mag springs might fix this problem. Instead of a nose down slide back problem, I had an empty chamber twice out of 80+ rounds fired. No nose down jams though. I put the original springs back in. I'd rather have the slide open, at least that way you know that there is a problem. I am going to try dry Teflon on the underside of the slide, and only shoot nickel plated brass (hydra-shock my carry ammo). In reality if that works it's all that matters.

Well I replaced the wolf mag springs with new s&w mag springs. I lubed the slide with tw25b and dupont dry Teflon on the underside of the slide. I fired 20 hydra-shocks perfectly. Then 25 federal 230g target, had 2 empty chambers. Fired 20 more hydra-shocks perfect again. Then 25 more target with 1 more failure to feed. I just don't know what to think. Any suggestions?

It would seem the target ammo might be the culprit...maybe try some other ammo, and see if it feeds/works correctly. Is the target ammo aluminum or steel case, rather than brass? Lots of people have problems with those...try brass case ammo.

Yes the target ammo was brass case.
I think I am going to put another 100 rounds of carry ammo (hydra-shocks) through it and if no failures, call it good. It just bugs me that I don't have 100% trust in my favorite carry gun.

Well, some guns are ammo sensitive...and not different makes of guns, but the same make/model. That is, what runs in one Shield may not in another, etc. I would still try out some other kinds of range ammo, to see if it works, unless you just want to shoot your carry ammo at the range.

I originally was having a nose down failure to feed problems. I think that was because of weak mag springs. I tried wolf +5% and new s&w mag springs and they both fixed nose down jams. I do believe that the gun is functioning correctly now. I agree the failure to feed problem is probably weak target ammo. I will try a different brand Any suggestions on what brand I should try next?

I like Remington and Federal 230gr FMJ, brass case. My carry ammo is Hornady CD 185 gr. I've also used PMC Bronze 115gr 9mm when I had a 9mm handgun. At one time, I had a variety of brands of 9mm that all worked well, but I can't remember all of the brands. I don't (and won't) use the cheap stuff, like Tula. I've read mixed reviews of WWB, and haven't tried it in 45. I did have some in 9mm, and it worked OK.

Mine seems to love eating Federal 230g brass, but I got a few FTF's from the Federal Aluminum cased recently.

I've read a number of complaints about aluminum and steel cased ammo. I won't use it. I stick with brass.
