Uncle Mike's IWB works for me.

My girl doesn't carry often, but when she does it's a Bersa .380 in her purse. She'll carry the purse over her left shoulder so she can easily reach it with her right hand.
She can actually get to it quicker than I can when I carry IWB. My only concern is someone grabbing her purse.

I carried in a holster purse for awhile. It had a zipper pocket down on one end, so whenever I was walking with it, I simply slipped my hand inside the zipper and had it wrapped around the gun. If they grabbed my purse, the gun would still be in my hand.
I quit carrying it in a purse because I got tired of being paranoid about my purse every time I had to sit it down in a shopping cart, or walk away from my desk, or go bowling, etc. I then went to IWB carry and wouldn't have it any other way now.
But for some women, on body carry is simply not comfortable, and I totally understand that. I just hope they're always mindful of where their purses are.

A woman's physique is generally somewhat different from a man's (many of us appreciate that difference). Wider hips and thinner waists make the use of holsters applicable for males somewhat difficult for women.
Generally, holsters for the ladies need to have less cant (carry angle) and ride somewhat lower on the belt line. This prevents having the grip frame shoved into the ribcage (right about the bra line, if a man's holster is being used).
Quite a few of my lady customers report very good comfort and concealability with holsters having zero cant, carried at the appendix position. These can be concealed very well with a loose outer garment and offer quick and easy access with a natural drawing angle.
For strong side carry, I recommend minimal forward cant and a shield between the holstered handgun and body to avoid contact between the skin and sharp surfaces of the handgun, and the handgun should be carried as low on the belt as possible. This method requires looser outer garments to prevent printing of the holstered handgun, but is far more comfortable for most women.

30 years ago, I saw a woman mugged in the Newark street for her purse. The perp ran full speed up from behind her and as he grabbed the purse off her shoulder, he knocked her down into the middle of the city street. Not one person helped her up. It was fast and traumatizing, and she got off easy considering I have heard of women being dragged alongside cars to their death as the perps drive-by grab, and the purse strap wrapped around their necks doesn't let them go.
Those concealed carry purses with a cable through the strap will kill you. Better to get a cheap purse and only keep cheap stuff in it.
Most of my carry weapons are worn IWB right in front of the right hip bone and I'll dress around it.
Sometimes I'll use the crossdraw if I'm driving a long distance.
But never ever off-body.

My wife carries a 642 in one of my SS model holsters between the 1-2 o'clock position and loves it.

My wife uses a holster I made for her astra cub plus xtra clip pouch
Here in Arizona when we are out in the back country brass hunting,yes I said we as in my wife goes where I go. Well anyway she wanted something better than a uncle mikes cordura style holster so I bought some leather from Tandy and made a template from a soda box and made this thumb break holster which I dyed pink with leather paint, I also made her a clip pouch and she loves it and there is no mistaking she is carrying a side arm, That pink holster is easy to spot on her belt at quite a distance.

It was my second attempt at making a holster, I have a NAA 22 revolver that came with a belt clip holster,but it had no way of securing the little pistol in it. That was the stock holster it came with. Again,using cardboard from a soda box I made a template and came up with this design. complete with a hammer retention snap that is part of the belt loop. The old saying necessity is the mother of invention applied here, There were a few on ebay,but they were all tooled or dyed not to my taste
