Applied online for SS 1 1/2 years go and heard nothing,my daughter redid it 6 months ago and still nothing-bah! I hate the idea of going there and lining up like a cow waiting to be milked lol.Sis went with me a few days ago,we stood in line for 1 1/2 hrs and finally! It took 15 minutes for them to correct it.Next day I visited the optometrist and had an exam and.new glasses ordered in under an hour.Made an appt with the dmv for today, showed up on time and stood in line for 1 1/2hours for the written test. I passed. Walked across the street waited another hour, took the driving test and passed that. I'm finally legal again after driving on an expired license for 7 years 😂. Progress.

I'm at a loss for words...

They give us a year to renew with a written test if you forget. I didn't notice it had expired for two whole years lol, then I was too busy to fool with it,then COVID hit closing the offices at the same time I stroked.Time flies when you're having fun 😆
They have a new feature where they email/text 30 days before renewal. I signed up 😆

If you care to share, what was the hold up? I ask only because I'm looking to enroll for next year.

I still don't know lol
edit: Now that I think about it,An expired license isn't legal ID.The questions they asked to verify if I was who I claimed to be were interesting. My ex wife's mothers first name ,my ex wife's birth date, etc, etc, were a few of many

At 70 1/2 yrs old I still hadn't applied for SS. They called me and not only started the checks flowing but sent a retro check for money owed when I turned 70. Renewed my DL online.

It's hard to blame people for driving with an expired DL or plates when you know how the system treats you.
