I have seen folks post here on guns that were part of the Columbian Exposition. I see what appears to be an original ticket marked "World's Columbian Exposition" "Expressly for Manhattan Day" "Oct 21st, 1893" with ticket number #17551 printed in red in a local city auction to be held Fri 1/31. It seems to me it might be a nice adjunct item for any firearm that was displayed at the Exposition. If anyone wants more info, PM me. I will probably attend this auction, which is primarily furniture, but wouldn't be likely to bid on this unless trivially cheap as I doubt I will ever have a S&W from that Exposition.

It would look nice along side a grouping of S&W's that had been in that exhibition. Several of these were with grips and embellishments from Tiffany. If you ever get a chance to buy the book, "Artistry in Arms" by Roy Jinks, they show several of them that had been displayed in the exhibition of 1893. The guns were sent around on an exhibition tour from 1991 to 1994. They needed to have issued bib's at the door to keep the drool off your clothes. So if you ever see the book, buy it. It's only 83 pages and full of photo's of the really great and beautiful masterpieces of engravers and embellishments.
