Just picked up a new 610 and plan on using prmarily for the 40 S&W. Would S&W make a S&W 40 specific cylinder for this model. With moon clips the cases eject quite freely so it would be nice of have a 40 specific cylinder for range use. That way I could drop the rounds in and tip the gun up to dump the empties in a shoe box. Yeah, I know, without moon clips I might have to poke some of the cases out with a pencil.

The proper place to ask is the S&W Performance Center. Have a bank reference. I doubt S&W will do the cylinder. There are custom revolver specialists who might accept the job. So long as the project isn't unsafe, if you got the money, they've got the time.

I expect it would be possible, but not advisable, to shrink fit adapters into the chambers and rechamber to .40 S&W. This was done at one time to convert M1 Garands to 7.62 X 51mm (.308). In the case of the Garand, there were dimensional prints to produce the adapter.
