Hello all, and apologies for the possibly confusing title here...has anyone ever seen Smith create a "random" dash series? Ex. a gentleman said he has a 610-4, and I don't think one was ever made / I have never seen one and I love 610's. Does that make any sense for Smith to make one?

The -3 is the most current version I'm aware of. So it's possible there is a -4. A new M610 with a two piece barrel would likely be released as a -4. So if there isn't one now, there will be. It's just a matter of time.

Put the onus on your friend. What's the s/n and product code (sku) of his gun? Knowing those, we'd know how old it is and could research it's exact configuration.

If you look in the SCSW, you will see references to models and engineering changes numbers that may have been produced but have not been documented (meaning it should have been made but none have ever been seen), or just plain rare. The mythical model 28-1 is one of the latter, but one showed up here in the last 1-2 years.

As KC noted above, however, there are some models that have simply never been produced, and a 610-4 falls into that category. Most likely a 610-1 with a mis-shaped 1.
