This was asked to me, "would you wear a Kilt"\
It was asked by a lady friend of mine, I had to think about it.
It's 95* out, Humid and the extra breeze may be nice?!
It makes me wonder what others think, I asked one friend of mine, He is from england and lives in NJ, He said he would but never has and thinks his wife would enjoy it.
So this brings me to wonder what the firearm community thinks< And would an IWB holster still fit well?
This could be interesting!
Peter.

Sure. In fact I do and have on many occasions. I have both a modern one in my clan hunting tartan and Prince Charlie coat for black tie, and an 18th century great plaid (philamor) with all the stuff. It's that Scottish ancestry thing, going to highland games, hanging out with the clan, doing Jacobite Rebellion stuff. Of course you must have a good assortement of armament -- a good sgian dubh of damascus steel, a 14" dirk and a decent basket hilt broadsword, an oak and leather covered targe, steel flint pistol, and S&W 637 in your sporran.

Do ladies like it? Well, it all depends. If you look like bubba-nascar wearing a skirt, some punked out fishhook faced freekazoid, or a withered up bent white legged old geezer, probably not. Otherwise, if you are in good shape and carry it off well ... I'll just say, oh yeah!

Women report that one of their favorite sexiest scenes in the movies is Liam Neeson and Jessica Lang in an ... mmm, ahem ... interesting skirt-to-kilt juxtapositon among the stones in Rob Roy. Then there's Braveheart too. Yeah, some women *really* dig it, but it isn't just the fact that you are wearing a kilt.

Re: the utilikilt though, I don't think so.

BTW, although there are many, a favorite answer to guys who ask what's on under the kilt? ... "just your wife's (girlfriend's) lipstick".

A fine you lassie asks "What's underneath your kilt?" The Scotsman says, "Reach me your hand dear, and go find out?"
So, she reaches underneath and finds what's there, and says "Oooh! That's gruesome!" "Aye", the Scotsman replies, "And try again, lassie, it's grew some more!"

....I'd wear a thong before a kilt....and I ain't worked up about a thong....

Yes, being of Scottish descent from the Clan Ferguson and the the first King of Scotland, Fergus the First, I would wear a kilt for certain occasions, such as state dinners and coronations, A CC handgun will fit nicely in the Sporran, but might not get by the metal detectors .

Yes, being a Black Irish and Scot hybrid, I'm mostly all Celt.
"Is anything worn under the kilt?" "Ah, no lassie. Everything under the kilt is is perfect working condition."

There's a pic of my grandfather wearing one during WWII. I don't remember the story behind it I just remember my dad telling me it was taken overseas during the war. We have Scottish in our blood but I don't know how many generations ago that was.

I do several times a year. I have four currently, one in my clan's (Clan Lamont) hunting tartan, one in US Army tartan, and two in Irish national tartan. Also a Prince Charlie, Argyle jacket, sporrans, etc. When you are your Clan Asociation's Regional Vice-President, it kind of goes w/ the territory. However, don't think for a moment that traditional kilts are warm weather wear. Wrap eight yards of wool around your waist and you'll see what I mean.
