WOW!! Fine Stippling on Shield

You gotta see this stippling job on a Shield. It looks like Talon grips and has the same texture. This guy, Tony, is doing mine for me. He does it with a fine tip soldering iron. The guy is an artist. PM me for Tony's contact info if you'd like something done, maybe just your rear grip strap, etc.

Tony, the stippler, lives in norteastern MA. Too bad you were'nt closer. His work looks like it's a factory job. You'd never even know it was done by a guy at home. I think he'll do other guns too besides the Shield, if you're interested.

Your stippling looks great. The Shields have slick stock grips and need a better gripping surface. I live in hot, humid Florida. Damp or sweaty hands are the norm in the summer months, so it's easy for the gun to slip. The Talon grip has been on my Shield 40 since June. It works great and I have no more slipping, even when sweating. I use their rubber grips on my carry guns, and use the granulate (sandpaper) grips on my other guns. The granulate gives the best grip, but it is rough and if you use it on a carry gun, it will wear out your clothes and your skin. The rubber grip is better than any stock gun grip, without the wear issue. I've had a Talon grip installed on a carry gun for two years. That grip sill gives a great gripping surface and it is still firmly attached.

Yeah, they can get slick. Tony's stippled finish is very similar to the Talon grips.

Yep it's good work, but I would only do it if it was face to face. I would never send a firearm unless it was a well known and established (legitimate) business.

There was an individual who advertised polishing and duracoat services under his faux business named "Twisted Monkey Customs". His name is "Steven Billington". People were left without getting all their parts back, and destroyed barrels and frames. He subsequently dropped off the face of the earth, and forum members (different forum) found out that this guy was a criminal (ie on probation) for conducting similar scams (computer upgrades, car parts, etc). Needless to say all these customers (those that got their stuff back) were left to repair or replace parts that this guy destroyed.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'd never ship a gun to Joe Shmo for stippling. The shipping costs make it unreasonable too. Tony, the stippler, could do grip backstraps and mags though and the shipping would be very little. Also, maybe some of you guys in Eastern MA might want to talk to him to do any of your composite guns.

Just to repeat. Nothing in this for me. I just wanted you guys to see and get a chance to get a nice stippling job if you'd like to.

Some wonderful stippling in this thread. A majority of the time the stippling I see really ruins the way a handgun looks and potentially it's value.

The ones shown in this thread are works of art and look very professional.

Thank you i appreciate that. I have done this to one of my glocks as well. I have seen some of the prices that some companies charge for this, and I know itnis VERY time consuming, at least for me because I do not want to mess up but the prices are pretty steep. Here is my glock

I only had stippling done on the removable parts of my M&P.

My Shield is getting Talon Grips :S

Had it done by A2 Stippling at Illinois Carry.

Backstrap, Magazine Release, and tool are stippled.

I kind of want the same texture done on my M&P22

All photos shown look good but I'm not a fan of friction art. I would however perhaps allow stippling where my right thumb crosses under the safety and over the magzine release but I don't think that will ever happen.

Problem with that is now you have to send your frame to me (I'm Aaron from A2 Stippling) which involves FFL fees/time. Would love to offer stippling on a Shield - but, from the photos above, it looks like some guys out there are really putting out a good product.

I've seen some photos on this forum of stippling - and frankly, they look horrible. I mean dang, gun ruined. Hence why I only stipple the removable parts on M&Ps. I want items to be replaceable in case the stippling "wears off" for ya or you need to sell the gun...or maybe even want to change colors of frame/slide/parts. It's fun to do - but takes time, patience, and money!
