WOW is this good!!!

I drink a lot of Gin and Tonic when I go to Africa.

A also dring it at the deer/pig lease in the summer time.
I hardly ever drink Beer, and you cannot always drink Scotch.

Summer is gin and bitter lemon time, but alas, you can't get bitter lemon up my way, so I do the tonic thing with lots of lime.
While I'm at it, you can't buy Campbell Soup's Pepper Pot soup either. I've called the company and they tell me it has fallen out of favor so they quit making it. Now THAT was real good canned soup! Sort of like trying to get B&M baked beans in the Seattle area. Seems like Bush's beans has the corner on this market. Also, can't get Scrapple out here either!

Being essentially cheap, I've lately been buying mostly Broker's gin. For the price, it's very, very good.

YOU may talk o' gin an' beer
When you're quartered safe out 'ere,
An' you're sent to penny-fights an' Aldershot it;
But if it comes to slaughter
You will do your work on water,
An' you'll lick the bloomin' boots of 'im that's got it.
Now in Injia's sunny clime,
Where I used to spend my time
A-servin' of 'Er Majesty the Queen,
Of all them black-faced crew
The finest man I knew
Was our regimental bhisti, Gunga Din.

Educate me.

What is a "Pink Gin", Ruark's drink of choice while shooting lions, buffalo, and other assorted African game ?

I believe the traditional Pink Gin is gin with a few drops of Angostura. Gives it more of an orange than pink color actually.

A Kipling quote is most appropriate when we talk of Empire!

I like my gin and tonics with a splash of bitters, floated on the top, not stirred. I also like them big, in a pint beer glass. If I'm drinking gin and tonic, I'm thirsty. Those dinky little bar glasses don't cut it. My favorite bartender figures if I'm gonna drink all that tonic, it might as well be a double. That's why he's my favorite bartender.

Boodles, stored in the freezer is the secret of my martinis. Suggested by Travis McGee.

I enjoy "T-n-T" (Tang-goo-ray and Tonic) so I will have to try "H-n-T" (Hendricks and Tonic). I did not like "B-n-T" (Bombay and Tonic).
