Hey y'all!
I'm selling this for the widow of a friend of mine. He passed away suddenly about two months ago and I'm helping her sell some of his guns and gun-related items.
This is a beautiful Model 1 1/2 Second Issue. The nickel plating is in excellent shape, especially considering the age (the serial number dates is to a ship date of around 1870). It's possible that the nickel was redone really well a long time ago, or that this gun was just taken care of very well. Either way, a beautiful piece.
The pearl grips are gorgeous, and I don't see any sign that they've ever been removed since originally installed screws are perfect, "age" formed around screw holes).
The bore is very nice: shiny, with strong, sharp rifling. There is one small dark spot in the bore (about 1/8" around) that may come out with cleaning.
I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking. Asking $400 OBO shipped & insured to you (no FFL required) in the lower 48 states. I'll pay shipping out of my pocket - all the money will go to my friend's widow, and will be a great help to her not having to stress about money in this tough time.
