As the letter says, it was shipped to Major General Julian Hatcher at the NRA on May 10, 1954. This same gun sold at the Rock Island Auction Co Sept. 9, 2017 (My birthday) for $4888. This gun show collector type handling, but to me it doesn't even look like it was test fired at the factory. Gun comes as the photos show with the Jinks Letter and a PDF file of the American Rifleman article from 1954. Box isn't mint, but is numbered to gun.
