This is a rare one. This gun has a slight turn line but other than that it looks brand new. It was made in 1954. This is a Smith and Wesson 4-screw, flat latch, "Pre Model 40" Centennial. It is a snub nose .38 special revolver with concealed hammer, original smooth magna stocks, and features the "lemon squeezer" grip safety unique to this model. The original pin is still in place in the frame under the grip. This revolver as I said looks NEW. It is a 4 digit serial number (#3573). On this early revolver - everything is numbered and everything is matching - underside of barrel, back of cylinder, grip frame, and inside of the right stock. Also numbered to the gun is the ORIGINAL red S&W 2 piece box which includes the original Centennial instruction sheet, wax paper and tools. You will never find a 64 year old example nicer than this one. I don't want to sell it but have been spending too much and the concealed hammer centennial is a bit out of place amount my other J, K and N frames. I am not looking for trades at this time. The price is $1000 local or I will ship to an FFL.
First to say the take it, gets it. I can be reached via PM or email me at [email protected] I will be out of pocket this afternoon but return any correspondence when I return this evening.
Thanks,
Earl
