mom and i have been on the road three weeks this time and we are sitting in casper wy. right now. there is a car company that is having a sale and with every car sold there is a ruger rifle being given away, ya gotta love cowboy country.

the rv park we are staying at is right beside old fort casper, in the front of the office the owners have two pair of cowboy boots, both pair are two feet high. mother says she would like a set in front of our place, so we go to the place of purchase and there is one boot left, we buy it and i go to pick it up, the thing weighs a hundred pounds, so now we have a hundred pound cowboy boot and a four foot tall metal annie oakley in the back of the jeep.
i hope the next nic-a-nacs she wants aren't quite so cumbersome.

My wife and I were sitting in a local watering hole someplace North of Dillon, Co. having lunch on day. This is ranching country and the town was maybe 500 people. Well, the saloon doors both flew open and in walks a cowboy with spurs on his boots, black pants, chaps, black shirt, and black cowboy hat. He was covered in dust and must have been pretty thirsty as he walked straight to the bar and tossed down a shot of whiskey. Then he walked to a table in the corner where five other cowboys in the same black pants, shirts, and hats were sitting drinking beer and ask in a loud voice, what did you do load one horse and come back here. With that having been said he turned and walked out of the saloon. We felt like we were on a movie set. There really is a certain mystique about cowboys that can't be duplicated anywhere else.
