It is good to be back here after the forum change !!!! I was going through withdrawal!!
I go to breakfast every weekend with an old friend, And this saturday was no different than the rest, Except for the stopping at a yard sale here in SE PA at about 8:15 am after breakfast, And low and behold I found something I wasent looking for nor did I need, BUT I was weak and could not resist.
The older gent had this Yamaha Enduro 175 from 1979, Garaged kept from new and had only covered 725 miles in the past 30 years, This thing is as new and I asked him how much,,,,,,, Well I took it for a spin and promptly loaded it up into the back of my pick up, Everything works like it did in 1979 and he was asking,,,,,,,,, $100.00 bucks for it...
Well now it is in my garage and I am waiting for the tag stuff now.......
I feel as though I really stole it,,, I didnt even try to talk him down in Yard sale fashion, But instead tore a new pocket in my pants going for the $100 bucks.
I've been riding it around being so darn pleased with my newest non gun purchase!
I feel now that I have to find something really exceptional for a Karma Giveaway here to make up for my good luck!!! Keep your eyes peeled here in the lounge!!
OKAY I know, Enough jibber Jabber, Here is the PIcture!!!!!!!

Now go run the ser # and make sure its not stolen!! Good find, I'll give ya $200 for it right now cash money!!...:)

When I was a younger lad, we had two of those old Yamaha 175 Enduro's here on the property. My brother and I used to run the heck out of those things. No doubt that you got a heck of a deal on that one!

OUT STANDING!

That's the kind of deals I like. I had the Kawasaki "equivalent" of that bike years ago, a 1975 175CC.

I was living out in San Diego and even rode it to work a number of times.

Enjoy!:D

I had a 1973 vintage 2 cycle. Great running bike, the only trouble I had was an occasional fouled plug from the oil injection system when going down long downgrades.

Dang! Where do you folks find these yard sales with great gun deals and deals like you got on that bike? All I ever see around here is old household junk and baby clothes...

Here's my 1976. I'm getting new tires for it soon, the originals are a little dry rotted and hard. Still runs like a champ with less than 4,000 miles.

IIRC, A Champion Gold Palladium plug, 1 range hotter, would solve that problem...I used to have a 350 Yamaha that would religiously foul plugs & the GP plug took care of it.

I would have bought that in a heartbeat. Nice deal.

Do a google search for 1979 Yamaha Enduro and you will find a ton of information, forums and places to buy parts. Ebay will probably have the best selection.

I rode the wheels off of those things when I was a child. I had a blue and white 175, and a green 360. The 360 was fast! I'd suggest you unhook the automatic oil injection system and mix your own fuel. There is a pin in the pump that is prone to backing out. When that happens, it quits pumping oil, and you have a seized engine. That is the only problen with them I remember. That is a beautiful bike. Bikebandit.com has most any parts you'd want for it. I'd enjoy another now, as they were good bikes.

Hi:
A most important point is that you have to purchase a "Bike Gun".
There are "Truck Guns, Car Guns, Boat Guns, House Guns. Walking in the Woods Guns, Formal Wear Guns, and BarBQ Guns, so why not a "Bike Gun"?

I had one back in the day. Mine liked to eat reed valves but other than that was rock solid. Nice score.
