When browsing a yard sale and you see a blue box you investigate and then ask how much. When the man tells you what he wants for it and you don't argue, you pay him what he wants, then you run home and fondle what you just bought., A nice model 41 all boxed with all papers and 3 mags. dated to 1978.
The photo does not do it justice. Oh ya did I mention it was 450.00

Can you do that in Montana? NO WAY here in Washington. All firearm purchases MUST go through an FFL Even private "garage sale" buys. Some wiggle room if gifted to a family member or part of an estate left to family member or other as noted in a will. Even deals between friends is a No No. Enforcement is a problem I would guess especially with C&R older pieces that were never registered. If stolen and used in a crime the weight of the law would be on the last REGISTERED owner. BIG trouble if not transffered correctly after this new statute came in in 2016 I believe.

That was one heck of a buying price on that M41. Good for You. WE are all Green with envy on what you paid. You can probably double your money over night just by selling this gun the way it sits.

One mans trash is another mans treasure ! I would wish you luck but you have already had it ! Great find. Glad it fell into kindred hands. Now buy a lottery ticket. Keep us in th loop , it will be fun.

Mind-boggling... about the same as winning the lottery. ;)

That deal sure as heck would never happen around here... not in a million years. :o

I bought a M41 with box, docs, tools, and 2 mags for $300.00 + tax.

It was 1981. Don't you feel a tiny bit guilty for taking advantage of the seller? I wasn't there, but I've met sellers who deserve exactly what happened -- arrogant 'Know-It-Alls' with no knowledge of prices.

Well I did buy this at a pawn shop the other day, not a smith but a good deal. It was put together wrong and couldn't pull the bolt back. Bought it for 150.00 took it home and fixed it. Ruger Mark ll target 6 7/8" bbl.
