One of the most succinct comments about a Veteran is this: "A Veteran is a person who wrote a blank check on his life for your freedom."

Even in peacetime, a Veteran is someone who has given up a large amount of personal time and "freedoms" just to be a linchpin in the safety or our nation. Even a cook or a clerk.

I wish all Marines everywhere, living and gone...Semper Fidelis and Happy Birthday!

To all Veterans, you were my heroes when I was a kid, not football players or movie stars, just Vets. You still are. I always want Veterans in my circle of friends.

Here's a man who epitomizes the words Veteran and Hero in his life. I'll post the pic and you can research who he is and his truly courageous feat.

mg357,

Affirmative.

On February 24, 1981, President Ronald Reagan presented Roy Benavidez the Medal of Honor. Reagan reportedly turned to the press and said: "If the story of his heroism were a movie script, you would not believe it".

So true.
