Hope the pictures come thru...
Picked this up in a recent trade. Said it was from a fellow who recieved it from the original owner (his Uncle)....so I would be the 4th owner. Comes w/ shoulder holster w/ name stenciled on it.
Serial # V 482XXX.
There is a flaming bomb (?) on the butt, next to serial number...no other government markings.
Can it be an original blued Smith?
Thanks!

That one's been pretty obviously refinished along the way. A shooter now, not much collectible value remaining.

There were very few original blued or nickeled Victory Models and the numbers and reasons are pretty much nailed down.

But, blued hammers and triggers are the mark of a local shop, in too big a hurry.

The above gun is an obvious refinished gun, as stated. I've never heard of a Victory Model that will letter as original shipped in nickel plate, and there are less than a doz. original Victory Models that were finished in high polish blue as VIP presentation guns, by the Service Dep't at S&W. ( Note: Don't confuse Victory Models with Pre-Victory Models) Ed.

^ I recall they were late SV's say eighty odd, I don't have the book at hand.

Thanks again.....so I have a shooter.....nice.
What about the holster.....could it be of value? anywhere to donate it?
