The yoke retaining screw on the right side of my S&W revolvers keeps loosening up and backing out. How do you guys deal with that, other than checking it frequently and screwing it back in? Blue Loctite?

Blue Loctite 242 or VibraTite would both work and be removable.
Good answer on blue Loctite, but I would question why? It is not a common situation and I would probably look for a replacement if this happens regularly. The older style needs to be adjusted for length but newer guns have a spring-loaded, universal fit part.

Sometimes if the male threads (screw) are undersized, or the female threads (hole) are oversized, a screw won't stay tight. Same for mainspring screw (or any other ones). These are small screws, and it's easy to strip them out trying to get them tight enough to stay put. The easy answer is something to fill in the gaps.

The early end shake screws where fitted as the newer type have the spring loaded bearing, I'll also note that the newer type have blue Loctite on them as they come from the factory.. Or at least the last one I ordered for a 940 came that away..
Sometimes trading out the two like side plate screws will give you a tighter fit of the yolk to frame.. Go easy & don't over tighten..

The red or blue threadlocker on the current yoke screws is not Loctite, but Vibra-Tite. The material is applied to the screw and allowed to dry before assembly, and prevents the screw from vibrating loose.
Use caution if you apply blue Loctite or other threadlocker to the screw threads. You don't want the material to wick into the plunger cavity in the screw and compromise the integrity of the spring driven plunger.

Purple threadlock is actually rated for small fasteners compared to blue. I had to put it on a few of my N frame 44 mags to keep the thumb release nut from loosening up

The yoke screw was designed to retain the yoke and is not interchangeable with the other round head sideplate screw although it will fit the threads. A Quick examination will showtedfferenxe. A little blue loctite will be fine. Be sure to use a proper screwdriver on sideplate screws.
