Was out yesterday enjoying the warm weather with the wife and we hit a few yard sales, at one, they had a ton of tools, car electronics and low and behold, in the garage itself was 3 and a half cases of GECO 115gr 9mm, now, if I told you what I done gone and paid for all 3 and a half cases you'd rise up in arms and lynch me, but I will say I found almost a full case of that Winchester cardboard box 12g 00 for 4 bucks a box, which I took along with a bunch of 7.62x39 and a couple of tins of 54R.

I am pretty sure I remember my dad paying a penny a round for 22LR in the mid 1950's, but we have had about 9 times inflation since then.
My Ruger Mk 1 cost $42. in 1967, and it was like buying a fishing reel, no background check, just pay and go.

Rick

I still have some old boxes of Winchester marked .29 cents!

Past 3 weeks Walmart has been getting some ammo in stock. I've been getting CCI Mini Mags $8.73/100 pack, Federal Auto Match and Winchester 333 Bulk pack $18.23/$18.73 box. A Walmart in the next town must have gotten several cases of the Federal Auto Match, the ammo case shelf was full! Still 3 box limit, but people aren't lined up to buy and the girl at our WM said it was sitting on the shelf longer than before.

About 10 years ago before the President Obama administration the 500 round bulk .22lr ammo cost $9.99 regular price and bought them on sale for $7.99. No reason to go back to the 60s or 70s. Unfortunately during the panic many shooters were willing to pat $100 and more. Since the ammo companies saw that they will never be $10/500 again. I will accept $20 for the bulk pack of 500. 2¢ a round will never be seen again like it was for many years but 4¢ a round is acceptable and like I said above, I refuse to pat more than 5¢ a round.
