Wow! You definitely don't see 610s very often. Don't remember the last time I've seen one. Very nice!!!!

I aquired two 610's this last year, traded into one 610 no dash 6.5 inch plus some cash with original box etc, and bought a 3 7/8 610-3 for around 1200.

You don't mention box or papers but that 5" with original grips alone would bring close to 2K on Gunbroker.

I love both mine but shoot the 610-3 more, since its worth less. Its also super fun to shoot!!

I have never seen 1 in person! The thought of owning 1 appeals to me. Would probably shoot .40's in it though. Congratulations! Bob

Very nice!! Congrats.

is that 4500 of the early "no dash"??....or 4500 of all versions of 610s.??

I'm not sure. The SCSW says 4560 made but its not specific. I don't know if the total was the first production run from 1989-1993 or second production run from 2000 to 2004 or the total of both.

While those prices are a little steep for an old retired guy that doesn't "need" that sort of gun, if I saw one in that configuration at a price I could live with, it would be mine. Just never have warmed up to the non fluted cylinders.

I took the 610 to the range was very impressed. It shoots like a dream, very accurate, and little recoil.
These guns requiring moon clips aren't what I typically look for to enhance my collection, but I did thoroughly enjoy shooting it.
I'm not sure what I will be doing with it as my interests lie in earlier model Smiths. I may be putting it up for trade looking for older .22s or .22 magnums. If you know of anyone looking for a beautiful 610 and they have something interesting for trade, send them my way.
Thanks for all the kind replies and I hope everyone gets to get out and shoot some this weekend.
Hank

Walked into a LGS/Pawn shop 6 years ago and they had one sitting in the case with a price tag of $895.00. I thought that was a bit high.

I have now completed therapy and don't feel so bad about that BIG MISTAKE!

I've seen one for sale...& i bought it. Funny, it was a private individual at a gunshow 11 or 12years ago. He asked 425, I offered 400 we agreed on 412.50...only time I had to pay with change (to a private seller), cause he wouldn't round up or down.

Would have prefered it were a 5".

So Then I looked for a 646.... Have not seen one of those, and I ain't paying gunbroker prices.

The model 610 is one of the finest revolvers ever made in my opinion. Probably may favorite with the 25-2 a close second.
